Our Story: From Struggle to Innovation
Our journey began with a deeply personal challenge.
As a teenager, our founder - Dr. Xihou Yin battled a persistent skin condition. Conventional treatments failed, until he turned to an unconventional remedy: the juice of unripe walnut peel. The treatment temporarily stained his skin and caused discomfort — but it worked. His skin healed.
This experience sparked a lifelong curiosity about skincare ingredients — what works, why it works, and how to make them safer and more effective.
Years later, he discovered rhamnolipid — a natural compound made from rhamnose sugar and fatty acids, both common in everyday foods. Despite decades of research highlighting its promise for skin health, it had never been used in skincare products because producing it at scale was nearly impossible.
That changed with years of dedicated R&D. Today, only a handful of companies worldwide can manufacture rhamnolipids sustainably and affordably — and we are proud to be one of them.
A Journey Perfected Over Time
In 2018, we introduced our first rhamnolipid-based Face Wash at the Oregon State Fair. The response was overwhelmingly positive. But rather than rushing forward, we invested the next seven years perfecting the science and production process.
